Getting started

Noteey is a visual note-taking app that helps with knowledge management and visual creation. On infinite canvas, you can collect and organize ideas, create storyboards, sketch, take notes, and then share them with friends and clients.

Core Concepts:

The product concept is very simple, divided into three layers: "Projects/Whiteboards/Blocks":

  • Projects: Projects are the atomic concept. You need to create a project whenever you start researching a topic. You can export and share projects.

  • Boards: Boards are the core units of a project. Each board is an infinite canvas.

  • Blocks: Every element on the board is a block. This includes text, images, shapes, sketches, cards, mind maps, and files. Cards and mind maps are complex blocks with their own forms of data organization, and they can also contain elements like text and images.

Why Noteey is Unique:

  • "You own your data" is our philosophy. Therefore, Noteey is not SaaS, but is sold more as standalone software (of course, you can purchase our cloud services for publishing, collaboration, and syncing across devices). Your data is stored locally by default. No one can remotely view or delete your data.

  • Powerful feature set: You can create almost all visual elements on the infinite canvas, and each feature is well-developed. You can import PDFs for annotation, insert links and images in mind maps, and import embed iframes from over 24 popular products.

  • Organize your local files with canvas: You can import videos, audio, and documents to the canvas. The canvas becomes your new medium for reading PDFs and watching videos, as well as your visual file manager.

  • Powerful presentation features: Noteey is the only visual note-taking app that supports presentation mode. We believe knowledge is not an information island and needs to be shared with friends for better results through connected learning.

How to Backup and Share Projects:

Noteey can be used entirely offline. Your content is all stored on your computer, and you can save local copies and share projects with friends at any time. The local copy file format is .pcanvasx (portable canvas file).

Your local copies can be sent to friends, and they can open and edit them using Noteey, just like PowerPoint's .ppt and Photoshop's .psd files.
